Salix Discolour , Pussywillows, or Elegant Loneliness ...
These pussywillows were organic from the Whole Foods Market...When I added ginseng to their water, the roots grew like crazy...Like nerve cells, maybe ginseng helps nerve cells, like from spinal cord injury (Christopher Reeve), regrow...maybe...

Flow
Dora is a gardener ... Her vine of antique roses look like daisies... apparently roses looked alot more like daisies thirty years ago... Flower Scents
Shakespeare would say that painting a Lily is ridiculous...Like gilding gold...or perfuming a violet...In fact, he did... Too bad I missed that quote in my McGill Shakespeare class...These Lilies were a gift from my mother on Valentine's Day this 2008...
Pigeon & Baker...
Inspired by ' People of the Book' by Geraldine Brooks, The burnt hands of the black midnight lady baker at Tim Horton's, & the pigeons (rock doves) who have been displaced by the destruction of their park across the street, replaced by a pink condominium building...
Cicada...
Cicadas live 17 years , people stir fry them & eat them , Cicadas sing really loud, & a Chinese saying goes ' shedding the golden skin of the Cicada to fool your enemies...'
Barbaro the Horse...sold
Well, Barbaro is gone...the painting & the horse...but we all remember the Kentucky Derby that he won & the Preakness where he broke his ankle...Barbaro fought bravely for his life & though after a year he was not able to make it, his offspring did, through the wonders of assisted breeding...If there is a lesson in prevention, would it be that athletes should not be forced to run major races with less than a month in between ? Would Barbaro be still alive if winning the Kentucky Derby was enough ? Should rules state that competitors must wait one month between races ? A major law change did happen as a result of Barbaro's fame which was to ban the sale & export of horses from the United States to countries who eat horsemeat for dinner...& all horses on deathrow were rescued & rehabilitated by law...
